Tom H. C. Anderson, MBA & MEA – Managing Partner

Tom Anderson provides hands-on personalized consultation, high-level advanced statistical and qualitative analysis, and actionable advice to Anderson Analytics clients.

Mr. Anderson has over a decade of experience at the largest global marketing research companies such as TNS, NFO Worldwide, and AC Nielsen BASES. He has worked on product and market development projects across several countries and industries including financial services, telecommunications, packaged goods, and travel & entertainment.

Prior to founding Anderson Analytics, Tom managed the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide account for TNS, where he managed market research studies in over 80 countries and consulted to executive and brand management of Westin, W Hotels, Sheraton, Four Points, St Regis, Luxury Collection, and Starwood Vacation Ownership.

Before TNS-NFO, Tom helped found IQuestics.com, a ‘Gen-I’ consumer insights consultancy for Snowball.com, now IGN.com. While at IQuestics he perfected the online quantitative and qualitative skills required to understand and market to the technologically savvy 13-30 year old Gen-X & Gen-Y demographic.

Tom has unusually deep and wide knowledge in all aspects of market research and advanced multivariate statistical analysis. Through his career he has consulted to dozens of fortune 500 companies and major marketing research suppliers and ad agencies.*

He earned his BS in Marketing and MBA, Beta Gamma Sigma, in Marketing, Finance and International Business from the University of Connecticut where he is a frequent guest speaker in graduate level marketing research and data-mining courses. He attained his Master of Economics with honors from Lund University, Sweden. During his thesis work he consulted for several joint ventures in Shanghai, China.

He is a frequent speaker at marketing and analytics conferences and several of his articles and methodological approaches have been published in trade journals as well as decision science text books including: Business Research Methods 10e , McGraw-Hill © 2008, and Qualitative Market Research – Approaches and Applications IFCAI Books/IFCAI University Press © 2007.

Jesse A. Chen, MBA – Senior Consultant and Developer

Jesse Chen provides marketing analysis & modeling, and designs interactive online applications and databases for Anderson Analytics clients.

Prior to joining Anderson Analytics, Jesse was Marketing Manager for SoftLine Information, an electronic database publisher. While at Softline he managed the company’s corporate branding efforts, advertising campaigns, and websites. He specialized in developing marketing strategy and marketing segmentation for the youth market.

Jesse has extensive experience in both visual communication design and e-commerce. Some of his past accomplishments include:

  • Creating educational booklets targeting high school students for the public information department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York
  • Launching a successful e-commerce website to market self-published graphic novels
  • Designing production logistics on Disney licensed educational videos for the Asian Pacific market
  • Prop designs for the Absolut Vodka ad campaigns


He earned his MBA with concentrations in both marketing and finance from the University of Connecticut, and has a bachelor's in communication design from the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Jesse has lived and traveled extensively on three continents and speaks fluent Mandarin, and Spanish. His unique experience, skills and drive are a valuable addition to any project.



Dr. Hong Jin – Chief Strategist

Dr. Hong Jin is Chief Strategist at Anderson Analytics. Dr. Jin is an industry recognized revenue management and demand chain management specialist. Prior to Anderson Analytics, Dr. Jin was Director of Revenue Optimization Strategy at Starwood, helping the company to improve revenue management strategies in key markets.

Dr. Jin also brings Anderson Analytics valuable experience in solution development and deployment from his work at i2 Technologies and Zilliant, the leading enterprise solution vendors in Supply Chain Management and Revenue Management, respectively.

Dr. Jin received his Master degree in Economics from Rutgers University and his Ph.D. degree in Transportation and Logistics Systems from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In his spare time Hong also teaches a class on hospitality management at New York Universities Tisch School.



Domenick Carbone, MBA – Senior Consultant and Modeler

Domenick Carbone provides marketing analysis and decision analysis using models & simulators on strategy oriented projects for Anderson Analytics clients. Domenick helps merge the learning and desire for ROI and risk analysis common in advanced financial analysis with the behavioral/psychological insights found through marketing research.

Frequently Decision Analysis helps make Anderson Analytics recommendations even more actionable and tangible. Decision Trees and Influence Diagrams can clearly model your decisions and identify the best decision to make as well as the risk involved. @Risk™ is commonly incorporated to reduce forecasting error and BestFit™ to find the distribution to fit your data. Finally Domenick can simulate your business process/problem to uncover all possible outcomes of the model, not just the most likely or average scenario. If an optimized solution is called for, Evolver™ can be used to solve your resource allocation problems.

Domenick Carbone is a former Senior Research Analyst with Louis Dreyfus Energy Corp. where he specialized in Crude Oil and Petroleum Products. Domenick has developed econometric models that forecast supply and demand balances and prices of Crude Oil and Products.

He has also held positions at Cendant Mobility Services and with JHP Associates where he worked on valuation, pricing and costing models.

Domenick holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Connecticut where he successfully completed course work in advanced quantitative modeling.



John J. Louizos, Esq. – Privacy Officer and General Counsel

John Louizos is General Counsel and Privacy Officer for Anderson Analytics. Mr. Louizos has diverse legal and operational experience. He is a Member of the Board of Advisors and manages legal, privacy and quality assurance issues providing counsel on business issues facing the company.

John is also partner of Curtis, Brinckerhoff & Barrett, P.C. and member of the Stamford, Connecticut Board of Finance.

He graduated from University of New Hampshire (B.A., magna cum laude, 1994); Washington & Lee University (J.D., 1997). Burks Scholar, Class President, 1996-1997. Law Clerk, Supreme Court of Virginia Office of the Chief Staff Attorney, 1997-1999. Member: New York, Virginia, Connecticut and Fairfield County Bar Associations.



Dr. Holly Morrell – Senior Consultant Psychology

Dr. Holly Morrell is a specialist in quantitative and qualitative research design and statistical analysis. As a result of her comprehensive training in clinical and health psychology, Dr. Morrell is skilled in using psychological theory to assess, interpret, and predict human behavior.

Dr. Morrell has worked as a private and university-based consultant in research methodology and statistics for the past seven years, in addition to teaching courses in methodology and statistics at the graduate and undergraduate level. She has actively directed research in diverse domains of psychological science over the past 10 years, including cognitive, behavioral, social, clinical, and perception psychology. Furthermore, she has extensive clinical training and experience in diagnostic interviewing, objective personality assessment, and neuropsychological assessment.

Dr. Morrell earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University, where she also earned her M.A. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at the University of California, San Diego and the VA San Diego Medical Center. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, specializing in psychological theories of psychopathology, cognitive processing, and recognition memory.

 

Peter Helmer -- VP, Business Development

Peter held senior business development positions with Reis, Inc., a provider of market data to real estate investors, Vocal Link, a provider of messaging services, and with Prodigy Communications Corp. in White Plains, NY. Peter's work experience also includes financial and business development positions in the magazine industry and a stint as a reporter on a daily newspaper.

He has a B.A. from Hobart College, a M.S. in Journalism from Ohio State University, and a MBA from Columbia University.

 


Dr. Ryan A. Brown – Senior Consultant Anthropology & Psychology

Ryan is an anthropologist with training in human biology and public health. His primary research focus is on the evolutionary, biological, and cultural roots of risk-taking behavior.

Brown spent three years studying the lives of Cherokee and White young adults in the Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina, and has published several articles on this topic. Turning his research more broadly to population health during a postdoctoral fellowship with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Brown also conducted research on physiological and emotional responses to social threat.

He is also an expert in youth research having worked with Anderson Analytics' GenX2Z panel to study trends and behaviors of White, Hispanic, and Asian youth in the US.


Gosia Skorek M.A. – Consultant Consumer Insights & Psychology

Gosia is currently working on Anderson Analytics' psychological content analysis & emotional text analytics efforts. Along with her impressive academic background at Jacobs University in Bremen and University of California Merced, her previous experience includes working at MindShare Worldwide, a Consumer Insights firm in the UK and Deutche Welle in Germany.
